1. Who we are

The Denim Code (operated by Farah Gurbanova, trading as Denim Insider, based in the Netherlands) is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at farah.gurbanova@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

• Quiz answers — your responses to our body-shape quiz (e.g. shoulder/hip proportions and fit preferences). These are not linked to your identity unless you choose to submit your email to receive your results.
• Contact details — your first name and email address, if you submit them to receive your quiz results and/or the guide.
• Purchase data — if you buy The Denim Code, Lemon Squeezy (our payment processor) collects your payment details, billing address, and order information. We receive your order confirmation and email address from Lemon Squeezy, but we never see or store your full card details.
• Technical data — standard website logs collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel), such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and performance purposes.

3. How we use your data

• To show you your personalised quiz results
• To send you your results and, if you purchase, to deliver your guide and order confirmation
• To send you styling tips, offers, and marketing emails — only if you tick the consent checkbox; you can unsubscribe at any time
• To process your payment and fulfil your order
• To maintain and improve this website and the quiz

4. Legal basis for processing

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for marketing emails
• Contract / pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — to deliver your quiz results and fulfil purchases
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — for basic website security and performance logging

5. Who we share your data with

We use the following third-party processors to run our business:

• Brevo — our email marketing and CRM platform, used to send quiz results, order-related emails, and (with your consent) marketing emails.
• Lemon Squeezy, Inc. — our payment processor and Merchant of Record; handles checkout, billing, taxes, and order fulfilment.
• Vercel Inc. — our website hosting provider.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements, and may process data outside the EU/EEA (for example, in the United States) under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell your personal data.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your contact and order data for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes described above, to comply with our legal and tax obligations (typically up to 7 years for financial records under Dutch law), or until you ask us to delete it / unsubscribe — whichever applies.

7. Cookies

This website does not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. We may use strictly necessary technical cookies or local storage required for the quiz to function correctly. If this changes — for example, to add analytics — we will update this policy accordingly.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from marketing emails)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is ever completely secure.

10. Children's privacy

This website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
